Introduction

Prof. Louis W. Shapiro gained the doctor¡¯s degree at Maryland University in 1963, and now he is the professor of mathematical department in Howard University. His main research field are generating functions, enumerative combinatorics and finite group theory, etc. While he obtained some results in probability and computational biology in biomathematics. He is one of the founders of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications (the ICA).
